General Practitioner | Breastfeeding Medicine & Perinatal Care

About Dr Pearl

Dr Pearl Terracini is a General Practitioner with a special interest in breastfeeding medicine, infant care and women’s health. She provides gentle, evidence-based support for mothers and babies, helping families navigate the transition into parenthood with greater confidence and less overwhelm.

After becoming a mother herself, Pearl developed a particular passion for breastfeeding and early infant care. She understands that feeding, sleep, unsettledness and maternal wellbeing rarely exist in isolation, and takes a holistic approach that considers both mum and baby.

Pearl is an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and is accredited in Neuroprotective Developmental Care (NDC), also known as the Possums approach. Her care focuses on practical, sustainable strategies tailored to each family, including a gentle, responsive approach to infant sleep and settling rather than traditional sleep-training methods.

Her Approach

Pearl believes there is no single way to navigate those early weeks and months with a baby. Her consultations provide families with the time and space to talk through what is happening, understand the evidence and develop an approach that feels achievable for their individual family.

Her care is warm, collaborative and judgement-free, with a focus on helping parents understand their baby, trust their instincts and feel supported in the choices that work for them.

Outside the Clinic

A local to the Tweed Coast region, Pearl loves being part of the community she cares for. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with young family, baking sourdough and growing her very own flowers and vegetables.

Need a little extra support with feeding or life with a new baby?

Whether you’re preparing for breastfeeding, experiencing feeding difficulties or navigating sleep, settling or an unsettled little one, Dr Pearl is here to support you and your baby with compassionate, evidence-based care.
