About Mel
Mel is a Registered Nurse with over 13 years of experience in healthcare, including several years as a perioperative instrument nurse specialising in gynaecological and obstetric surgery. She completed her Bachelor of Nursing at Southern Cross University and now brings her calm, capable care to both the surgical suite and the Wahini Health front desk in Ballina.
Mel is passionate about holistic, person-centred care and believes that kindness and clear communication can make all the difference in a patient’s journey. Whether supporting surgical prep or welcoming women into the clinic, her goal is to ensure everyone feels seen, safe, and supported.
At Wahini
Mel works across both nursing and reception roles in our Ballina clinic, providing clinical support behind the scenes and a warm, familiar face at the front of house. Her dual perspective makes her a trusted guide for many of our patients, especially those undergoing fertility care, pregnancy support, or gynaecological procedures.
When she’s not working
Born and raised in the Northern Rivers, Mel is a proud local and mum to two boys. On weekends, you’ll find her and her family riding e-bikes along the East Ballina break wall, soaking up the coastal sunshine, or cheering on her husband in the surf while working on her own (still-evolving) surf game.
