About Mel
Mel is a Registered Nurse with over 13 years of experience in healthcare, bringing a calm, capable and compassionate approach to the women she cares for at Wahini Health.

With a strong background in perioperative nursing, including several years as an instrument nurse specialising in gynaecological and obstetric surgery, Mel understands the importance of feeling informed, comfortable and supported throughout your care.

She believes that kindness, clear communication and attention to the individual can make a meaningful difference, particularly during times that may feel unfamiliar or overwhelming.

Experience and Approach
Mel completed her Bachelor of Nursing at Southern Cross University and has built extensive experience across surgical and perioperative care.

Her background in gynaecological and obstetric surgery gives her a valuable understanding of women’s health and the clinical journey surrounding procedures and treatment. At Wahini, she brings this experience together with a warm, person-centred approach, helping women feel prepared and supported throughout their care.

As a Northern Rivers local and mum of two, Mel also understands the value of having trusted healthcare close to home. Her approach is practical, reassuring and grounded in treating every woman as an individual.

Outside the Clinic
Born and raised in the Northern Rivers, Mel is a proud local and mum to two boys. Outside of work, she loves making the most of the coastal lifestyle with her family. You’ll often find them riding e-bikes along the East Ballina break wall, enjoying the sunshine or cheering on her husband in the surf while Mel continues working on her own, still-evolving, surf skills.
